Recognized in 1956 along with Booker T. Washington of Ponca City High School and Prentice Gautt  of OKC Douglass High School, as the first Oklahoma African-American High School All-State Athletes

Attended Oklahoma Baptist University on a basketball scholarship (1956 - 1958), then transferred to the University of Oklahoma where he became a member of the basketball team

Letterman University of Oklahoma Basketball Team (1958 - 1960)

Recognized (with Purcell's Joe Lee Thompson) as one of the first two African-Americans to receive a scholarship to play basketball for the University of Oklahoma Men's Basketball Team and is still recognized by OU as the first African-American to play.

Elected to the Purcell High School Sports Hall of Fame in 2011.

Mr. Hudson passed away in 2013
