After graduation at OBU, Bob served his country in the U.S. Army (1956 - 1957), where he was trained as a Radio Operator. He also played on Military Basketball and Tennis Teams while serving
In 1959, Bob decided to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth. He graduated in 1962 with a Masters Degree in Religious Education
After graduation, worked full-time for the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (1962 - 1968) as a photographer for the Public Relations Department
In 1968, Bob accepted a position in the Public Relations Office of the Baptist General Convention of Texas where he was the Technical Director for the Baptist Convention. He held this position until his retirement in 1997.
While working with the Baptist General Convention of Texas, Bob was awarded membership in the "Texas Baptist Public Relations Hall of Fame" in 1991 for his service.
