Recognized as Purcell High School's first female All-Stater with Dorothy Blanchard
She attended Oklahoma Baptist University where she was voted "Best All Around Girl" in 1925 and the "Harvest Queen" of 1926. She was first chair violin in the orchestra but also played piano, sang, debated and judged high school contests.
As a junior she was the coach of the OBU women's basketball team, and as a senior she was the coordinator of women's sports.
She graduated in 1927.
She taught English, Spanish and speech in Purcell until 1935 when she married Ernest Waller and moved to Lawton. He died in 1964. She began teaching in Lawton at Emerson grade school and started a physical education program.
She was a president of the Lawton PTA Council and was a leader in the campaign for a new high school. She taught eighth-grade English at Central Junior High from 1955 until her retirement in 1971. Mrs. Waller was Lawton's Teacher of the Year for 1965. She continued to teach the GED preparation classes for another 18 years. She was an active member of First Baptist Church where she was a part of the Ukulele Band and the Primetimer's Choir. She was a member of the Domestic Science Club, Spanish Club, Book and Play Club, Southwest Oklahoma Opera Guild, Friends of the Library, PEO and Shakespeare Club.
After becoming homebound, she was a specialist with the telephone committees.
Vivian Died in 2009 at the age of 103
